When feelings overtakes one’s soul,
with the heart looking more than a battlefield of dark thoughts than a tranquil organ that is supposed to be just pumping blood,
breathing becomes an achievement in itself,
and every second passing by while one holds to life is something not only to be grateful for, but surprised at…

During such times,
One needs safe passage…

Safe passage from the feelings that rage without stop,
with its damage reaching the far corners of one’s existence.

Safe passage from the endless thoughts,
from anxiety that pushes one’s body to its limits,
from overthinking that puts one’s brain into overdrive,
from one’s hunger and thirst to be being seen, heard, and held.

May you be the safe passage to one who is in need,
and may you not be taken aback by the enormity of their baggage,
but may you see in them a reflection of yourself when you were in need,
even if life it didn’t throw at you a trauma of the same magnitude.

And you who are beyond tired,
may the universe, or God, or fate, or whatever you want to call him/her/it,
may they send you safe passage in the form of human presence,
and may it come before it’s too late…

May it comes with a pair of eyes that see beyond your trauma,
Ears that hear and not just listen,
Arms that hold securely,
and a spine that knows what a privilege it is to be of comfort to you.
